Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has told off President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over their endless trips to the Coast region, saying they will not bear fruits.

In an interview with People Daily, Kingi said Jubilee is wasting time and resources wooing Coast voters, as the region cannot be easily swayed to vote for the Uhuru’s administration.“Let President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee brigade know that they have no chance in Coast because the region is firmly in NASA,” said Kingi, as quoted by the daily.The governor claimed that Jubilee has been riding on fake and unfulfilled promises to woo Coast residents.“Coast people are not stupid to believe in the fake promises and development agenda Jubilee claims to have undertaken,” he added.Kingi said Coast region will overwhelmingly vote for the opposition as it did in the 2013 general election.On Thursday, during a rally in Lamu and Kilifi, Uhuru scoffed at the opposition, accusing them of using propaganda to discredit the Jubilee administration.He urged Coast residents to back their re-election promising to champion development in the region.
