Kisii county gubernatorial aspirant Patrick Lumumba has accused current Governor James Ongwae of failing to deliver thus leading to mass defections from Cord to Jubilee.
Speaking at St Vincent pastoral center on Monday during a Wiper party rally, Lumumba said that a section of leaders and locals are joining Jubilee because Ongwae has failed to deliver as by the ODM/Cord manifesto.
Lumumba who ran for the county seat in 2013 on a TNA ticket but failed he joined Wiper and vowed to give Ongwae a stiff competition in 2017 polls.
He noted that Ongwae has even failed to convince his deputy not to work closely with Jubilee citing that Ongwae is a failure who should not be given a second chance in office.
"Ongwae's leadership is similar to that of Jubilee yet he is an ODM/Cord member. Many opposition leaders have exited ODM/Cord for Jubilee since the county boss has failed to sell the opposition's manifesto to the people and other leaders below him," noted Lumumba.
He pleaded with locals to support him in 2017 elections and expressed his confidence that Wiper party will field him for the Kisii county gubernatorial seat come 2017.
