Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has said that he will work to ensure Deputy President William Ruto gets the full support of the Mt Kenya votes and clinch the 2022 presidential seat.
Speaking on Saturday when he accompanied DP Ruto in Kuresoi North where he issued title deeds, Kabogo said that he supports the DP’s bid, days after he was reported to be questioning his candidature.
“DP Ruto must be the president come 2022 whether some people like it or not,” said Kabogo, adding that Ruto’s Mt Kenyan votes are guaranteed.
“Nothing is going to prevent me from working with DP Ruto ro ensure that he wins the 2022 elections,” added Kabogo.
The Kiambu boss asked politicians from Mt Kenya region and Rift Valley to start strategizing on Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
At the same time, Kabogo asked politicians to stop spreading propaganda that will cause disunity among Kenyans.
The Governor said that it was the responsibility of every politician to preach peace and unity among Kenyans.
He further warned that hate speech is a threat to the country’s stability, especially now that we are heading to next year’s general election.
