A day after the Jubilee team faced hostility in this part of the nation, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has said that leaders are in for a rude shock since the area is solidly behind National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga.“Jubilee’s plan to divide Kamba votes will not work because the region is solidly behind NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka,” he said, as quoted by Standard. The vocal politicians remarks come after Senator David Musila and National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze were put on the spot for allegedly endorsing President Kenyatta’s re-election.
The duo has, however, denied endorsing Jubilee for another term in office. The two leaders argue that they only recognized that head of State has initiated several projects for the benefit of Kenyans, which does not translate to endorsement.
The leaders have been asked to declare their stand in relation to the Presidency as the election date inches closer.
