Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja has told Kibra MP Ken Okoth to ditch ODM for Jubilee Party to save his political career.
Sakaja said Okoth risks being a one-term legislator after Cord leader Raila Odinga's daughter, Rosemary, entered the Kibra parliamentary seat contest.
Speaking during a sitting at the National Assembly on its first day after December recess, Sakaja said Okoth may fail to return to the House after August 8, general election.
"There are those who will not come on purpose, but there are others who will not come by the will of the people," Sakaja said.
The former TNA chairman added: "It is in the same breath I welcome my brother Ken to Jubilee since his Kibra seat is now gone. We will give him a ticket." However in a quick rejoinder, Okoth reaffirmed his unwavering support for the ODM party, and insisted he was open to competition from Rosemary Odinga.
"I am a loyal member of ODM and we are going to fight for the nomination ticket with Rosemary. I can also assure you I have no intention of serving for one term," Okoth said.
