The National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga has been asked to retire from politics.
According to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat, the only honorable move Raila can do now is to quit politics especially after he withdrew from the October 26 repeat Presidential poll.
Speaking at the County Assembly buildings in Eldoret town on Wednesday, Kiplagat dismissed threats by NASA that they would use peoples revolution like what happened in Egypt to force a regime change in the country.
"Raila and the NASA team should look at their support base and know that the revolution they want to cause in this country will not work. Kenya has a different configuration and what happened in Egypt cannot take place here," said Mr. Kiplagat.
"His advisers should let him know that he is an old man, he has served this country well and it's time he went to rest because it is very sad for a person who has reached his sunset years and he's still disturbing everyone," he added.
NASA has threatened to mobilize its supporters across the country to the country's capital, Nairobi and start a revolution they have likened with the one in Egypt that was characterized by marches, demonstrations and civil resistance which led to President Hosni Mubarak's resignation.
