Uhuru accused Kidero of taking Nairobi locals for a ride, by promising them development, only to frustrate them, since he took power in 2013.

However Mudavadi who is a member of the Opposition's Nasa coalition, defended Kidero's leadership, saying Uhuru was the one to blame for not supporting Kidero's government.

He said the president had been frustrating Kidero's administration financially, instead of supporting him.

"The other day, I heard the president say Kidero should be replaced by a Jubilee governor come August. He said Kidero has failed Nairobians, yet he is the one failing Kenyans, even as his term in office nears,'' said Mudavadi.

He added: "Instead of telling Kenyans what he has done for them this five years he has been in government, he accuses Kidero of failing Nairobians. Uhuru is a failure.''

Mudavadi was speaking, Friday, when he flagged off the ANC Youth-Nasa Kura campaign caravan in Nairobi.

"It is very encouraging when the youth take up the initiative and roll out activities that place them in positions of decision making. Proud of you ANC Youth,'' he told a crowd.
