Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has renewed his political fight with his fiercest rival Chirau Ali Makwere terming the former Kenyan Ambassador to Tanzania “a political reject who should retire”.
Speaking in Kwale Town on Thursday, Mvurya vowed to teach Mwakwere a bitter political lesson on August 8, adding that he has nothing to offer Kwale people and should quit politics. He said Mwakwere is wasting his time and resources campaigning, adding that locals will never endorse him as their governor.“Makwere should accept the fact that he is too old to contest for any seat and gracefully quit politics,” said Mvurya, as quoted by the Nation. The Governor said Kwale residents cannot be swayed by Mwakwere who he claimed failed to deliver to locals when he served as a cabinet minister.“Mwakwere should tell us what he did for Kwale people before even thinking of campaigning for the governor seat,” he said.Mvurya also warned the former minister over inciting locals against the Jubilee administration. The ODM rebel governor said he is confident of retaining his seat, arguing that his development track record speaks for itself.Mvurya is seeking-election on a Jubilee Party ticket.
