Mwingi North Mp John Munuve has said that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is being held hostage by the former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
According to Munuve, there are no chances that the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader will allow him to run for presidency as long as he remains in the coalition.
Munuve believes that time has come for Kalonzo to pack his political belongings and join Jubilee if he wants to remain relevant in the political arena.
Speaking at Kianjokoma National Independent Church of Africa (NICA) in Runyenjes Constituency where he had joined other politicians in a fundraiser to construct a church hostel, Munuve pointed out that Kalonzo has been enslaved in the coalition when it is clear that he will not be on the ballot box when that time comes.
“He is being held hostage there yet he doesn’t have chances of being the flag bearer,” said Mr Munuve as quoted by Daily Nation.
Other leaders who attended the fundraiser included Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti, MPs Njogu Barua (Gichugu), Dr Peter Munyaka (Machakos Town) and Mr John Waiganjo (Oljororok).
This section of politicians accused Cord governors for engaging in massive corruption in their counties. They also asked Cord to clean its house before they start blaming the government for graft issues.
“More than half of Cord governors are under probe yet Cord leaders are not speaking against it. Many of those governors could be funding the party activities,” said Mr Waiganjo.
