Maangi announced his defection from ODM recently when Deputy President William Ruto visited the county for a funds drive at Itierio in Bonchari constituency.

However, Janganya on Tuesday dismissed Maang’i move as insignificant, saying that the Chair of Deputy Governor’s Council was ‘a drop of water in the ocean’.

“In fact, he took long to make that announcement. He has never been in ODM and will never be recognised. He is insignificant in the county politics and his departure is nothing major,” he said.

He vowed to use the popularity of Orange party in the region to ‘teach Maangi a lesson'.

“This is one politician who has never been grateful for what ODM has done to him. The party picked him from the forest and we will use the same manner to teach him a lifetime lesson,” he added.

“He can’t purport to articulate Jubilee agenda at the expense of poor people."

"I wonder why he goes all the way to Sugoi to collect brown envelopes and cheat people that he is doing development,” he alleged.

He also said ODM party will use its popularity to thwart Maangi’s plans to run against Governor James Ongwae in 2017 polls.

“He should forget about being elected Governor of Kisii. As a party youth wing, we will not allow his mediocrity to overrun our good course,” he said.
