Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has criticized Senator David Musila’s decision to resign as Wiper Party chairman terming it a coward move.
Malombe claims that Musila’s decision to quit Wiper after losing in the party primaries was a cowardly act.
He claimed that Musila does not believe in democracy adding that his decision to abandon Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka will back fire on him.
“Musila’s decision to abandon Kalonzo will backfire on him because he cannot survive anywhere without Wiper Party,” he said a quoted by the Star.
Malombe said that true democrats don’t abandon their parties when they fairly lose in elections.
The Kitui governor asked Musila to stop blaming Kalonzo for his defeat in primaries.
“Musila should stop dragging Kalonzo’s name to his loss in primaries,” he said.
Musila ditched Wiper Party last week after he was floored in the nominations for the Kitui governor seat.
The Kitui senator went on to resign as Wiper chairman and also ditched the party saying the nominations for Kitui governor race were not free and fair.
Musila announced that he will run as an independent candidate. He told Malombe brace up for a titanic battle saying that he will send him packing in the August 8 polls.
