According to Nation, the youth claimed that the region was a Jubilee zone and they could not entertain anything to do with JP.

Police were forced to intervene and save the workers who claimed that they were not aware that the billboards were advertising the yet to be launched Jubilee Party.

TNA officials from the region who addressed the press, however, blamed the workers for the incident.

“As TNA and officials of Jubilee coalition,we have just arrived in Nairobi for a delegates meeting slated for Thursday. We were unaware of such billboards,” Homa Bay County TNA coordinator Rosemary Rumo is quoted by the nation.

She said those who were behind the installation of the billboard had the intention of portraying Nyanza as an anti-jubilee region.

“As far as we are concerned, it is only after Saturday’s National convention when the officials of the new party will be unveiled that we had arranged to start marketing the party in Homa Bay,” she added.

Homa Bay and the entire Nyanza region has been known to be the stronghold of Cord leader Raila Odinga.

The Jubilee merger is set to be made official on Saturday amid claims of public funds use in realizing the union.
