Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile’s rally at Athi River Stadium ended prematurely after a group of youths started chaos.
The youths who were chanting National Super Alliance (NASA) slogans made it difficult for Ndile to address the residents of this area as he seeks to clinch the Mavoko Parliamentary seat in the forthcoming general elections.
Police officers were forced to throw teargas to disperse the crowd as the unruly youths made attempts to reach the vocal Jubilee affiliated leader.
Ndile termed the incident barbaric, adding that Patrick Makau was to blame for his woes. Earlier on, Makau had warned Ndile against dragging him into his problems.
“Kalembe should learn to deal with his problems,” Makau said.
He added: “If he owes people money, what has that got to do with me?” he asked. The outspoken MP also rubbished speculations that Ndile is a threat to him adding that he cannot hold a meeting in the area. “He cannot hold a meeting anywhere in Mavoko. Everywhere he goes the people are chasing him away,” said Makau.
The parliamentary aspirant has vowed to soldier no matter the tribulations he faces before the polls.
