The youth initiative with its base in Athi River town intends to recruit youths across the county in preparation to drum up support for re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

Addressing the press during their first meeting in Athi River town on Thursday, the movement's chairman Patrick Ochieng' said the object of the movement is to ensure that the duo was re-elected in next polls to continue with their development projects across the nation.

The youth lauded the government for its commitment to improving lives of all Kenyans without discrimination of any kind.

They said the government should be given another chance to implement projects which they said improved livelihoods, making parts of the country that had been ignored by previous governments also benefit from the development projects.

Ochieng' said it was high time youth across the country united to support the Jubilee development initiatives and shun being politically misused by politicians who did not have any development agenda for them.

He lauded Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for joining hands with President Kenyatta for the county residents’ interests stating that the two major projects; the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and the Nairobi Mombasa Dual Carriage Highway would create lots of job opportunities for the youth.

He said they decided to form the movement as a way of giving back to the government for its commitment to improve and uplift livelihoods.

"We intend to spread to the entire county hence call for all youth with interest to join us so that we support our leaders who work day and night to see our livelihoods improve," said Ochieng'.

The youths intend to engage in various development projects in the county to support and appreciate initiatives currently implemented by both national and county governments in the region.
