The Youth Enterprise Fund (YEF) on Saturday embarked on a door to door campaign educating target groups on the need to apply for loans.
The campaign themed Youth Fund Mtaani targets thousands of youth who shun the office environment and have thus not inquired about the fund details.
Speaking during the launch in Nakuru, the Youth Enterprise Fund (YEF) Chief Executive officer Catherine Namuye said that currently, at least 21,035 youth groups have benefited from the fund across the country.
"So far we have given out Sh 10 billion to groups and individuals. This campaign which we have launched targets more than 30 districts and we will increase the number of beneficiaries," Namuye said.
Namuye added that the campaing will try as much as possible to educate the youths all issues related to the loan.
She added: "We are very much aware that most of the youths especially those from rural areas fear the office environment. That is why we decided to go and find them instead of them coming and finding us. Youth Fund Mtaani is a friendly campaign where we believe the youths will freely interact with us."
