A group of youths, in partnership with Githurai’s Faulu Bank, have pledged to support recovering alcoholics in Juja.

The initiative will help those recovering get into business to ensure they do not fall back into the alcohol menace.

Speaking when he met the recovering alcoholics from Witeithie on Friday, the bank’s marketing manager, Julius Macharia, said that they are on the front-line to ensure the reformed youths get prioritised in the society.

He said that they need to feel some sense of acceptance in the society to give them hope and strength to move on. He said the bank has set up some strategies to ensure they support them.

The bank has partnered with a youth group, Witeithie Pacesetters, who have been mentoring the former alcoholics.

The group has already sponsored seven of them with two engaging in motorcycle repair, and the other vending different items in the streets of Thika and Juja.

The bank has now pledged to facilitate the others’ business and other operations including getting them jobs from local industries.
