The group has 20 tree nurseries full of trees which they expect to sell and get Sh200,000 in return.

Speaking in Bahati on Friday, the Group's Chairman Eliud Munga said that apart from generating income from sale of seedlings, the group is actively participating in the co–management of water and re-afforestation in the Constituency.

“Our objective is to ensure that community capacity to manage forest resources in a sustainable and participatory manner is achieved,” said Munga.

He said that his group is closely working together with Forest Department in developing an enduring framework through which schools and local communities can support re-afforestation.

“Efforts to mobilise schools and communities to support re-afforestation is on top gear and we will make sure that through this project we achieve our main objective,” said Munga adding that it is their hope to make Bahati Constituency green in 10 years’ time.

Munga urged Nakuru County government and stakeholders to support them and to encourage youths with clear and beneficial projects as a way of improving their standards of living.

“We want more partners to come and support us in our effort to green this sub-county”, appealed Munga.
