Led by their group chairman Jonathan Mayaka during a consultative meeting on Wednesday, members were optimistic in thriving in the Bodaboda business following in depth research.

“We will be soon starting a Bodaboda business to enable us thrive economically. We have consulted experts and we are certain that this is the right way to go,” said Mayaka.

According to Mayaka, the group has so far saved Sh500,000 from small businesses such as tea farming, poultry farming and dairy farming.

“We combined small businesses such as poultry and tea farming to reach here. Honestly, I never thought we would ever reach this height given that we used some of the profit to sustain overselves,” added Mayaka.

They urge other youths to develop entrepreneurial skills by coming up with workable business ideas that can help improve the economy of the country.

“Our fellow youths have to change their perception when it comes to development. All they need is to come up with incredible ideas that can help develop this nation,” said the youth chairman.

They called upon the government to ensure transparency and accountability when disbursing Uwezo Funds so that all youths are subjected to equal opportunities.

The five motorbikes are expected to be bought by the end of this week before being given to trained youths to operate them as a way of empowering them.
