The Limuru Youth for Change seeks to find an amicable solution to curb the menace which has become rampant among youths in the area.

According to chairman Newton Kinuthia, the group comprises 52 members who are determined to fight drug abuse among youth as well as ensure that the future generation is free from drugs.

They have appealed to the county government to support them with funds to ensure the successful implementation of the programme.

The chairman said they have lost many productive youths both in school and out of school to drugs and want to reverse the trend.

Kinuthia who was once a victim of drugs and substance abuse said they will visit both primary and high schools to sensitise youth on the dangers of drugs.

He said that about 80 per cent of those who abuse drugs in the area are productive youths aged between 10 and 35 years.

The group welcomes anyone who wishes to join them in the campaign and hope that by 2017, they will have rid the area of drugs.
