This morning youth groups in Kisii County volunteered to clean the town streets and the county offices’ flower beds.
According to Denis Mogere, group chairperson of the Kisii Youth Association, the activity was just one of several initiatives planned to make the town cleaner than it ever was before.
“This is the very first community clean-up campaign done by our youth group in the Kisii area, and we will be teamed up with more youth volunteers to help remove the unwanted trash in this town,” said Mogere.
Mogere added that the group participation in the cleaning activity was one of the best ever done in the town and that they would have to expand their volunteer services to the nearby big markets and children’s home, as well as hospitals.
Samuel Otok, a man from the business community, applauded the volunteer effort and called upon the county government to participate in the cleaning of the town more.
“They have done a great job and the town now looks cleaner. We would like this to be done more often,” said Otok
