According to the Njoro Youth Groups Union (NYGU) Chairman Titus Ngujiri, the workshop is slated to take place early February this year in Utafiti Hall at Egerton University and it will be co-ordinated by senior lecturers at the Faculty of Agriculture of Egerton University.

Ngujiri said that those expected to attend the workshop will include officials from Agricultural and Livestock Research Institute, County Government Agriculture and Youth Ministries among others.

“We have been delighted by the role the university is taking in educating the nation on Agribusiness activities through the Seeds of Gold Publication in some of the local newspapers on Saturdays. We thought that we as Njoro residents are so close to the university and should extract much gain from its community based services,’’ said Ngujiri.

He added that the union members were very eager to learn more on agri-business activities to boost their experience and gain skills for agribusiness investment.

The youth leader explained that the agriculturally rich environment and the presence of the university have motivated many local youth groups as a leading centre of Agricultural knowledge hence a need for them to focus their objectives towards agriculturally oriented projects.

The union has twenty registered youth groups and was formed last year to strengthen youth groups’ agenda in the region.
