Uasin Gishu County Public Service Board vice chair Ms Joyce Kebenei Thursday supervised an exercise aimed at recruiting three enforcement officers in Soy sub county, Kuinet Kapsuswo ward.
“The exercise targets 110 youth from the 30 wards in the entire county, the procedure being a way of granting the youth who scored at least grades below D+ the opportunity to serve their county,” said Ms Kebenei.
The area ward administrator Mr Hosea Kiplagat hailed the county government for conducting recruitment at the grassroots.
Security adviser Mr Paul Rutto said the exercise has been smooth, calling upon youth in the areas that the exercise has not reached to emulate character witnessed in the areas where the exercise has been completed.
“We are not expecting to hear any cases of irregularities because we believe our young men and women are people of integrity,” he said.
One of the successful candidates of Kamukunji sub location, Mr Bildad Kiptoo Ruto, said he was pleased with the way the process was conducted.
“I think everyone saw that it was free and fair. I thank the county government for recognizing us at the ground level,” noted Kiptoo.
