Ijara Member of Parliament, Sophia Abdi Noor said more than nine hundred youths in her constituency will get jobs.

While launching the programme in her constituency, Ms Abdi said the programme will target more than 900 youth which will seek to positively change the lives of the youth in her area.

The youth who will be employed through the program were urged to work hard in ensuring the program benefits them as they will be provided with jobs that will help them acquire skills that will change their lives.

The legislator said the programme which aims at empowering youth had earlier been started in Kibera and has now trickled down to the youth of Ijara constituency, in Garissa County.

“We have launched 900 job opportunities for the youth under the Ugatuzi youth empowerment programme. The program will not only aim at uplifting the lives of the youth through gainful employment but also in public service delivery,” said Ms Noor.

The MP who was accompanied by the Director of National Youth Service, M. Magaya, congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for launching the programme to benefit the youth in this country.
