Ruiru sub-county administrator Mohammed Abdi has promised to get involved in youth operations in his area of governance, as they are the pillars to county development.
Speaking during the launch of the sub-county development plan at the Ruiru sub-county headquarters on Tuesday, the officer said he is pleased with the contribution of this young generation towards the growth of the sub-county.
“Am pleased with youths volunteering to facilitate the development of this sub-county, I will support them in meeting development goals. It will benefit youths and help them shun away from drugs,” said Abdi.
The administrator also confirmed the county government’s involvement in youth affairs, saying the construction of the Ruiru Stadium perimeter wall set to start soon will give job opportunities to many young people in the sub-county.
He further urged all area leaders to get the youth on board their projects, adding that development achievements can only be achieved through an active youth base.
“We may be a small group but enough to make a big change. I pose a challenge to all the area leaders who have not come up with a strategy to help the youth in their activities, please do something,” added Abdi.
