Speaking to this writer in Athi River town on Thursday, they said the recruitment exercise conducted at KMC grounds in Athi River town was exemplary done as compared to the previous ones.

Athi River boda boda association chairman Isaiah Wambua praised the officers who were in charge of the selection terming them professionals.

Mr Wambua praised the team arguing they conducted the exercise with lots of professionalism, decorum and bias.

He said it was the first time ever for a boda boda operator, his colleague to be selected to join police in such an exercise in Athi River Sub County.

Jesinter Mueni argued the exercise favored the less privileged and more vulnerable youths in the society this time around citing cases of the boda boda operator and another youth who was selected in the exercise to join administration police after making eight consistent attempts unsuccessfully.

The 26-year-old who sat his KCSE in 2007 has been living on sand harvesting in his Kinanie rural home to earn his livelihood and provide for his wife and a child.

George Onyango, a youth who observed the exercise on behalf of a local NGO said the process was very transparent adding all youths who turned up were given equal opportunities to try their luck without bias.
