Dozens of youth have stormed Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang’ Ngong’o’s office demanding facilitation to attend NASA leader Raila Odinga’s swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony is set to be held tomorrow (January 30) at Uhuru Park, Nairobi. The irked youths argued that ODM supporters from surrounding sub-counties have already been facilitated to attend the event. The youth earlier accosted Kisumu County Assembly Majority Leader Kennedy Onyango whom they found in the vicinity of the county offices. It is reported that the youth forced Onyango to part with some money to be used for hiring a bus.The youth, who are majorly drawn from the Bunge La Wananchi units in Kondele, Manyatta, and Obunga, accused the county leadership and local ODM members of taking the swearing-in event for granted. They threated to take unspecified action should the county leadership fail to cater for their transportation costs to and fro Nairobi.Attempts by Kisumu County ODM vice chairman Kennedy Ajwang to calm the youth proved futile. However, security officers manning the building stayed put to ensure no ugly scenes are witnessed.
