Kenya has been grappling with myriad issues one of them being to stabilise the economy which raised the cost of living for an average Kenyan.
But the country is yet to come to its worst as youth unemployment is a ticking time bomb the nation is sitting on.
Over the years, we have heard so much commendation from the government on creating employment opportunities for our young graduates being churned out by Kenyan universities/colleges.
But the situation has not borne fruits to the fullest as there are many challenges encompassing some of the employment opportunities available.
A case in point, most organisations including government ministries tender many jobs for application but one of the things that has locked out many of them; experience.
How do you gain hands-on experience when the only hands-on job you have done is your three-month industrial attachment?
These are some of the issues that the government should pass a policy seeking immediate address otherwise we will continue producing brilliant minds who go to waste in our villages or doing menial jobs.
