Youth have been urged to venture into oil painting to earn a living.
Sam Ngige who has established a name in oil painting says the venture is paying well.
“Youth can tackle poverty by venturing into oil painting,” said Ngige.
Speaking today at Molo Trading Centre, Ngige said that youth should not excuse themselves with cases of no job as there is work to be done.
“One should not underrate any job. Youth can do a lot of things to earn a living and desist from committing crimes,” he said.
Ngige said that after drawing his pictures he hawks them to neighbourhood and wreaks in a tidy some of money.
“I oil paint my pictures with contemporary messages like Crime and hawk them in the streets.
“At the end of the day I collect over Sh500,” said Ngige.
Ngige urged the county government of Nakuru to set up a resource centre to nurture the talents of youth.
“Most talents among the youth go to waste due to lack of incubation and lack of moral support,” he advised.
He said that other talents like sports should be encouraged in order to help youth cope with challenges facing them.
