Bonchari Member of Parliament John Oyioka has promised that youths who fail to secure chances to join university and other higher learning institutions will be sponsored to join local polytechnics to further their studies.

The lawmaker speaking on Tuesday evening at Suneka market said he will prioritize education among the youth in his tenure.

"The future of our youth lies on education. Youth who will not qualify to join university will get CDF sponsorship to join polytechnics to acquire skills in various courses which they will use to uplift their living standards,” he said.

Oyioka urged parents across the constituency to ensure their children enroll in schools because the government is offering free day primary and secondary school.

“Parents should not condone their children to remain at home during school time. Children should be taken to school to better their future,” he said.

He warned employers against employing underage children who should be given time to complete school.

“Police should arrest employers employing underage children who drop school to do manual jobs,” he added.

Oyioka appealed to his political opponents to shun politics and wait until 2022.

"It's time that  deliver to improve lifestyles of the people. It is advisable for my rivals to wait until 2022," he said.
