Nakuru County government Director of environment Murithi Kiogora has advised the youth to be more active and positive in life in this New Year.
Speaking on Sunday at St. Francis Catholic church in Nakuru, Kigora said it was important for the young generation to live a more fulfilling life, free of drugs and other vices.
The county official, also an executive of the Nakuru Catholic Diocese encouraged youth in the region to adhere to their New Year resolutions, in order for them to realize the goals they have set, adding that by so doing, they would have achieved a positive impact in their lives.
“This is a brand new year. You have a chance to spend it in a way that will make a positive impact in your lives,” said Kiogora.
He further encouraged residents of Nakuru to uphold a peaceful coexistence by showing love to each other while cooperating in many aspects of life.
He observed that the region that experienced some of the worst post poll violence incidences in 2007/8 has since remained peaceful, since residents learnt a lot from what happened.
He noted that the continued peaceful coexistence in the region was a good example to other regions in the country and a potential for economic growth.
