Wamwangi who was speaking in his Thika office on Tuesday, said that the festive season comes with a variety of business opportunities and advised the youths not to just sit down and watch.

"I encourage all the jobless youths in this ward not to just sit down and watch as the festive season comes to an end. For a business-minded person, this is the perfect opportunity to venture into a small business relevant to the season," Wamwangi said.

He added that many people were in a position and willing to spend on things like Christmas gifts, clothes among others to the advantage of businessmen with such items.

Wamwangi noted that youths in the area who had taken advantage of the El~Nino rains had made a good fortune.

"When El~Nino rains started in October, I saw some entrepreneurial people start businesses like shining shoes, selling hot coffee or uji, snacks, umbrellas and so on. Those people made a good fortune. Another opportunity is here with the festive seasons and youths should fly with it," he said.
