Youths in Nyamira have blamed elected leaders for poor development record in the region.
The youths led by ODM party Youth League leader Dennis Marube claimed that division among the leaders in the region should be blamed for lack of development.
“There will be no development in Nyamira if leaders won’t accept to unite and deliver. I wish to urge leaders from Nyamira County led by Governor John Nyagarama to form a unity block which will help them speak in one voice to enable them deliver quality services to residents,” he said.
Marube stated that youths have been idling in village due to lack of jobs because leaders have failed to engage the graduate youths.
“Youths lack jobs and they are now idling in villages. Our leaders should move with speed and come up with strategies on how they should help the youths who are graduates secure jobs to earn a living,” he added.
He challenged Governor John Nyagarama to stop giving priority to old people when awarding tenders saying the elderly should be given humble time to enjoy their retirement.
