Youths across the country have been urged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga after they showed interest in uniting the country following last year’s divisive polls.
According to Mount Kenya Youth Caucus, a political lobby group Chairman Linford Mutembei, youths who are often used by politicians to engage in hooliganism should learn from the country’s top two leaders Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Unity between Uhuru and Raila is much welcome and should be supported by all. Young people and Kenyans at large should learn from the two leaders and avoid turning against each other once political differences emerge,” Mutembei said in Kiambu Town on Sunday.
He said youths should avoid politicians who are after using them to cause chaos in the country.
"Youths should live in peace, unity and harmony irrespective of their political affiliations. Fighting, hating and abusing each other will not help us to develop,” he stated.
Mutembei urged NASA and Jubilee leaders to help the two leaders in their efforts to unite the country.
