Youths from Kisii county who have not acquired identification cards have been challenged to go for it as My ID My life campaign kicked off in Kisii county.
Addressing the media on Tuesday at Kitutu Central ward during the launch, Kisii County Youth Forum President Dennis Orioki advised youths to go for Identification cards since it is an essential document.
Orioki said most of the youths are unable to go for loans even in Youth Bunge Sacco since most of them have no IDs.
“We are here to advise our youths to go for Identifications cards since it is an essential document in life, one cannot be able to acquire loans since they don't posses it, let our youths go for it to access loans which will boost their business,” said Orioki.
Hezbon Moronya Chairman of Youth Bunge Sacco said that they have been having challenges of giving out loans to youths since they don’t have IDs.
“We support this initiative so that our people can acquire IDs so that we can also give them loans,” Moronya said.
They also said that they are targeting 25,000 youths in 10 sub counties across the county within 2 months and also sensitising residents on the importance of acquiring the ID.
“We are targeting 1000 youths 2,500 youths in each sub-county which will add up to 25000 from 10 sub counties, we advise our people to come out in large numbers so that they can acquire this important document.
