Speaking at Sirikwa Hotel, the youths, under the umbrella Vijana Leo, said that the President had failed in his promises where he promised to give the youth major appointments during his campaigns.

"It is very ironical for the President to say that he is advocating for youth leadership and yet he still appoints the very old who have been in government for decades", Richard Kemboi, their spokesperson, said.

Kemboi urged the President together with his Deputy to honour all the promises that they made to the youths.

"Youths should be given major appointments to the key positions in the government. All we are now seeing is the same old political cronies being brought back to the government instead of bringing young, energetic and fresh blood," Kemboi said.

Eunice Kiplagat said that the president has failed them since they all depended on him to appoint the youths.

The youths further supported the president's recent move on fighting corruption.

"The president is fighting corruption as it is required and we urge all the leaders to come together and support him. We also urge all those who have been implicated to kindly step aside as they pave way for investigations to be carried out," Kiplagat said.
