Speaking during a funds drive at Othoo ACK church in Nyatike Constituency, Nyatike based politician and advocate Fredrick Ogenga said that majority of youths have been denied tenders yet they have qualifications.

He said 90 per cent of the beneficiaries from the tenders are those political leaders who failed to fulfil their political quest in the previous election.

Ogenga said that even the 30 per cent tender which should be left for youths as stipulated in the constitution has not been met in the county. He appealed to the Migori County government to consider youths in their next tender award.

He said that most youths are jobless and therefore awarding them tenders will help them acquire funds which will help them invest. Ogenga added that most youths have been engaging in unlawful acts because of inadequate job opportunities which can only be solved when they are given first priority in the awarding of tenders and job contracts in the county government. The advocate also urged all political leaders to work together and avoid side-lining some regions for not voting them in the previous election. Ogenga helped raise Sh 4.2 million geared towards the construction of the various churches. He urged leaders to put their jealousy aside and give room to development. He said that time for politicking is gone and people should join hands for development purposes.
