Gathogo observed that youths fall prey to selfish politicians who use them to cause violence.

She indicated that cases of youths being used to cause violence during the electioneering period are common.

“As we approach the 2017 general election my appeal is to young people to stay off selfish politicians who would want to use them to cause violence,” she said when she met elderly women at Watu Wa Maana Children Homes in Ruiru on Saturday.

The MP urged youths to remain peaceful and support leaders who will bring them development. Gathongo said that there are many positive activities youths should engage in instead of crime and violence.

She said that time when politicians used to intimidate and cause violence in search of votes is over. The MP called on youths to work with her as she finalizes development projects in the constituency.

The Ruiru lawmaker promised to implement all the development projects before the 2017 general elections.
