Uasin Gishu County Kikuyu community spokesman Samuel Kamunu wa Kabari has urged youths to refrain from being used by politicians to cause violence ahead of the fresh presidential elections.
He said every Kenyan has a right to reside in any part of the country.
"Youths should be wary of self-centred politicians who have a tendency of using them to cause violence at long last destroying the country," he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
"We don't want to see what transpired in 2007 to reoccur. Let’s maintain peace before, during and after elections," he added.
He, however, urged politicians to deal with unemployment amongst the youth.
"I call upon MPs and governors to come up with projects that will empower youths financially to start their own business. Idleness is the cause of violence amongst youths," noted Kamunu wa Kabari.
He advised youths to stop using alcohol since most of them have forgotten their matrimonial functions.
