Youths in Kangundo sub county, Machakos County have been urged to exploit their talents as they may be a potential source of income for them.
The sub county officer for youth and gender in Kangundo Winnie Katelo expressed concern over unemployment among the youth in the region.
She noted that unemployment drives youths to engage in social vices and hampers development.
She advised young people to nurture their talents as it may turn out to be a good source of income.
Katelo added that the youth may secure jobs that require the use of their talents, hence the need to horn them.
"Our youths are blessed with various talents but the problem stems out from lack of motivation to explore them for their own benefit," said Katelo.
The officer appealed to political leaders from the region to consider setting aside funds that would facilitate nurturing of youth talents.
She said by reducing unemployment in the region, the youth will ditch indulging in social vices and gear themselves towards steering development in Kangundo.
