This advice was handed over to them by the Kisii deputy county commissioner, Peter Mbugi. He urged them to do so, so that they are able to employ themselves.

He was speaking in his office on Thursday and said that the government was aimed at providing job opportunities for the youth to venture into by providing loans and tenders.

"The government has set aside 30 per cent of its budget to women, youth and persons with disabilities," said Mbugi.

"Youths need not to have money to apply for government tenders since they are funded by banks in partnership with the government so that they get capital to begin their projects," he added.

This comes after the commissioner noted that youths wanted to create wealth fast without working for it. He said unemployment resulted in the youth committing crimes and violence. Therefore, young people were encouraged to go for government jobs and tenders.
