Ombeyi Ward Representative Joshua Auko said the name of the Governor is being used negatively in the county by some youths.

Auko said he has fallen a victim of the scheme by some youths who hang on in the corridors of the governor’s office.

He said the said youths attend fund raising events in their Wards and purport that they have been sent with a donation by the governor and use the occasion to attack elected leaders.

“The Governor is not aware of these youths who invoke his name unnecessarily to gain some political mileage ahead of the 2017 general election,” said Auko.

He said that elected leaders are mandated by the people to serve their term and carry on with their responsibility without any interfering from anybody.

He added that those who are out to discredit leaders should be put to task to explain their intention and what value they are adding to the society.

“Our people should be on the look out to these youths whom every weekend walks from one event to the other to discredit elected leaders and put them to task,” said Auko.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Auko said he is getting concerned by constant negative criticism by these youths in his Ward.

“I am ready for criticism, but let it be positive ones aimed at improving lives of the people I represent.

The Ward representative warned that the name of the county governor Jack Ranguma should not be dragged into such cheap criticism.
