Youths across the country have been challenged to desist from spending most of their time online abusing their leaders.
speaking on Monday during Jamhuri Day celebrations, Kisii University student leader Seth Anunda also warned politicians against funding youths to intensify online campaigns against their opponents.
According to Anunda, the younger generation would only make a positive impact in the society if it stood for real change by fighting bad governance using right mechanisms.
"As the younger generation, we have an obligation to ensure that we engage soberly in social media. i am aware that some of us are being misused b and time has come for us to ignore leaders who are only after misusing us," he said.
"it is our prime responsibility to avoid leaders who are out to bribe us in the name of fighting their opponents. There is a proper way we can deal with real issues affecting us," he added
He also urged youths to use social media to push for their social-economic rights in all areas of governance.
