Speaking in Machakos town during a forum aimed at fighting the disease, the officer in charge of the programming, training and support committee, Fredrick Kimemia stated most of those infected are in both Secondary and University levels.

"Currently 16% of all the youth in Kenya have contracted HIV/Aids and they are between 14 to 24 years," said Kimemia.

Kimemia further called upon parents to be more keen and advice their teenagers on safe living, abstaining or use of protection.

"It is shocking that we have findings from our research that many youths are afraid of getting pregnant than contracting HIV or other diseases," he added.
