According to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development's Election Observation Mission to Kenya (Igad-Eom), IEBC administered a proper election, one that Africa should be proud of.

According to Ambassador Tewolde Gebremeskel, who spoke to journalists in Nairobi on Wednesday, the country held a peaceful, orderly and transparent election exercise.

He also warned politicians to desist from inciting Kenyans, urging them to instead respect the will of the people.

“They should refrain from any act that might be of disruptive nature to the peace and stability of the country,” he said as reported by the Nation.

The country experienced an influx of observers from all over the world, with the Igad-Eom sending 18 members of staff to act as observers.

“The counting process had no incidences of disruption,” he added.

The body is set to provide their full report on the election exercise, with clear indications that they were satisfied with the process.

This will however come even with Raila Odinga, Nasa Presidential candidate rejecting the results, saying the electoral agency’s system had been compromised.
