It has now been revealed that the process of disbandment of the PSCU directors started brewing long time ago.
According to the Star, the attack on Yumbis village in Garissa in May, 2015 is among the factors that contributed to the famous sacking of the communication directors.
It is reported that the directors have been issuing conflicting statements on matters of national importance even without consulting their bosses. For instance, Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery blasted the PSCU for releasing tweets that contradicted with the ministry's directions.
"There have been a lot of contradicting statements issued on behalf of the PSCU by the directors without consultations that were mostly read as individual opinions," quotes the Star.
In another incident of irregular communications, PSCU directors in early 2016, issued a statement where President Uhuru, who was overseas for official duties, congratulated DP Ruto for the collapse of his ICC case without making due consultations.
The PSCU directors were suspended on Wednesday following a memo signed by Waita, notifying them of their disbandment.
