The president of Zambia Edgar Lungu has congratulated the country for holding a repeat presidential election on October 26.
Speaking during the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta at Kasarani stadium on Tuesday, Lungu reiterated that the ongoing political stalemate had some of the country's friends worried about the future of the country.
He urged Kenyans to now focus on work that is aimed at building the country.
"Congratulations to you people of Kenya. We are proud of you. We are glad the process has come to an end. We were worried about you since the process was taking too long. We urge you to now go back to work and build Kenya," remarked Lungu.
His remarks were supported by Gabon's president Ali Bongo who urged Kenyans to maintain peace, love and solidarity.
"The people of Gabon congratulate you Kenyans and we are proud of you. We now urge you to maintain peace, unity and solidarity," reiterated Bongo.
President Kenyatta has been sworn-in to serve his second term in office.
