She also believes Governor Evans Kidero will retain his seat despite pressure from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party which could sponsor either Senator Mike Mbuvi or former presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth to wrestle with him.

On Wednesday, the ODM Secretary General said her party is likely to expand its territories in the city given the dissatisfaction of people with Jubilee government.

“Nairobi is traditionally an ODM zone and I don’t think Jubilee will manage to penetrate. We are organized and I am confident that the leadership is doing all it can to expand the territory,” she said.

Zani added: “We are hoping to increase our representation and on gubernatorial, I think Kidero has done much to earn him second term. We are totally in control.”

Deputy President William Ruto has been on the frontline pushing for consensus on fielding of Jubilee candidates in Nairobi with hope that the party will clinch key positions in August elections.
