Kenya's Fatuma Zarika beat Zambian Catherine Phiri in an entertaining boxing duel at Carnivore grounds on Saturday to retain the World Boxing Council (WBC) super bantamweight belt.
She won through a unanimous points decision.
The history-making and stylish Fatuma “Iron Fist” Zarika met her fans expectations and staged a spate of clear punches in the entire bout.
Arguably Kenya’s finest female boxer, Zarika showed great skill and resilience of a full boxer.
On October 1, 2016, Zarika dethroned Jamaican Alicia Ashley at the WBC world super bantamweight title bout in Michigan, US, and became the first ever Kenyan to win a WBC world title.
