Gor Mahia head coach Ze Maria has hailed his side after toiling to get a win against Nzoia Sugar on Sunday.
K'Ogalo won the match by a solitary goal which was scored by Rwandese striker Meddie Kagere.
“It was not easy against Nzoia Sugar. It was a very tough match because they (Nzoia) played a very good and tactical game. We needed to change our tactics so as to contain them and I am very impressed because my players put up a very spirited performance.
“Remember we had to protect a slim lead because Nzoia looked like they could hit back and level matters. My players responded well to keep the lead to the end. It was a good game from my players that takes us to the top of the table. They (players) deserve to be thanked because they managed to maintain the pressure from fans and also media.”
Gor Mahia are now leading the 18-team table on 25 points.
