Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot has angrily reacted to those referring him as a Rift Valley rebel leader. He accused the Deputy Presisent, William Ruto, of 'not listening'.
Cheruiyot was a friend to Deputy President William Ruto but have since changed tune due to differences in leadership ideologies.
Speaking in his constituency on Wednesday, Cheruiyot said he is not a rebel but is only opposed to poor leadership by the Deputy President.
"I am not a rebel as many refer to me. I am only opposed to poor leardership the DP has offered to our people. This is not what our people want," he said.
"The DP does not listen, I always tell him to change his leadership style but that has earned me a rebel label," he added.
Cheruiyot has been at loggerheads with the Deputy President in recent times, with Cheruiyot refusing to join the Jubilee party.
He earlier claimed that Jubilee was a tribal party meant to retain leadership other than serve the people.
The MP urged residents to elect leaders based on performance regardless of the party they use.
